The Smartest Ways to Store Measuring Cups and Spoons
Measuring cups and measuring spoons can be tricky to store because even though they sort of nest, they’re always flopping around and getting lost in the nether-regions of your drawer. If you keep your measuring tools connected, they all get dirty when you need just one. If you take them apart, they get lost, one by one. But if you’re a baker or someone who really likes to follow a recipe, it’s very important to actually be able to find your measuring tools when you need them.
These clever organizing ideas will keep your measuring cups and spoons under control.
1. Stick ’em on a knife rack.
If you’ve got metal measuring spoons, just stick them on a magnetic knife rack. Then you’ll always be able to see what you need at a glance. If you don’t already have a knife rack and aren’t sure if you want one, consider mounting it on the underside of your cabinet. This way, the spoons will be organized but not out in plain sight.

2. Hang them in the backs of cabinets.
I love this setup from Chelsea of blog Two Twenty One. Repurpose a little hook set (usually meant for keys) in the back of your cabinet and use it to hang up your measuring tools right where you can see them, and behind the other items you’d use for baking so they’re right on hand.

3. Hang them inside your cabinet doors.
The inside of your cabinet door is handy for tons of stuff, but measuring cups are right at home! For an extra-smart touch, Kristin of Modish & Main used chalkboard paper to keep measuring equivalents handy.

4. Attach them to canisters.
If you tend to use the same measuring cups for the same ingredients (hello, flour and sugar!) then save yourself some searching time and attach them right to the corresponding canisters.
5. Use a pegboard.
Whether you put your pegboard inside a cabinet door or on your wall for all to see, those little hooks and flexible spacing are just right for measuring spoons and cups, and other baking tools.
6. Rack ’em up.
A kitchen utility rack (or even one marketed for towels or a curtain rod) and a couple hooks can be a good way to get measuring cups and spoons out of a drawer so they’re easy to use. Yvonne of Stone & Gable happens to have extra-pretty measuring spoons, which doesn’t hurt. Note her extra set tucked away in the hanging basket.

7. Use tubes as hangers.
If hooks aren’t your thing, try tubes! This clever hack from Marji of Ashbee Design uses tubes of PVC pipe mounted onto a cabinet door as little holsters for the measuring tools.
